During a pump revision at a refinery, the customer discovered that the existing base frame had been affected by corrosion. This meant that the equipment could no longer be properly replaced. Additionally, the base frame was pressed loose from the concrete foundation as a result of rust formation under the base frame.
EMHA designed and manufactured a completely new base frame, which, among other things, complies with the API-686 recommended practices and customer-specific guidelines. The base frame was calculated with various calculation methods, depending on the size and type of equipment, on bending strength, torsional stiffness and vibration behaviour. Per request, a new coupling protection cap was supplied, which complies with the current machine guidelines.
