A shipping company buys a hull, screw and propeller shaft, gearbox and motor from a bankrupt company. The complete propulsion installation had to be engineered.
EMHA made a strength calculation of the propeller shaft, to see to what extent the propeller shaft could be reduced in diameter, in connection with corrosion. An alignment calculation has also been made from the gearbox to the propeller shaft. All calculations, drawings and reports were submitted to Bureau Veritas for review and approval. After receiving approval, the complete installation was built and aligned by EMHA.
